4 - Step Skincare Regimen

Skincare can be very overwhelming these days with brands coming out with new products every other month. When a product goes viral, you feel like you also need it, less is more. Keeping your skincare routine as simple and as short as possible is important. This stops you from damaging your skin barrier.

 Step 1: Cleanse

This is the most important part of your entire skincare routine. Cleansing your skin morning and night gets rid of impurities, excess oil, and makeup. When you cleanse properly, this helps you to keep your acne under control as well as your blackheads and whiteheads. There are so many types of cleansers out there and finding the right one for you starts with knowing what your skin type is. If you have oily, combination skin, go for foam cleansers. If you have dry skin, go for a hydrating cream cleanse.

Step 2: Tone

Toners are liquid skincare products designed to be applied after cleansing and before moisturizing. Applying a toner has so many benefits such as balancing the pH of your skin, removing any leftover residue from cleansing, prepping your skin for the next step of your skincare routine, etc. Choosing the right toner for your skin depends on your skin type and end goal.  Another recommendation is a great eye cream or serum. This step will go a long way with the health of the skin around the eye are.

Step 3: Moisturize

First of all, you have to always moisturize your skin even if you have oily skin. Not moisturizing your skin will cause your skin to produce more sebum which will only make you oiler. Moisturizers provide essential hydration and strengthen the skin barrier. If you have oily skin, you should go for lightweight moisturizers and if you have dry skin, consider going for moisturizers that have ceramides and glycerin.

 Step 4: Sunscreen

Sunscreen is a crucial skincare product that protects the skin from harmful UV rays. It helps prevent sunburn, and premature aging and reduces the risk of skin cancer. Apply sunscreen daily, even on cloudy days, and choose one with broad-spectrum protection and an SPF suitable for your skin type. Reapply regularly, especially during extended sun exposure, for effective sun protection.
